Dena McMurdie grew up in the breathtaking foothills of the Canadian Rockies. It was there that she developed her passion and love for nature, the figure, and art. She won several awards in her youth, and was a recipient of the Kelly Davis Art Scholarship.
She obtained a Bachelor's of Fine Art degree from Brigham Young University-Idaho where she received multiple scholarships. In addition to solo and group exhibitions, she has participated in numerous juried shows including Idaho Paints Idaho at the Art Museum of Eastern Idaho where her painting won Second Prize, and the Eighth International LDS Art Competition. She has also served as a juror for various art exhibits. Her work has been collected in the United States, Canada, and Europe. She resides in San Jose, California with her husband and two children.
